The side of the roof has separated for 20 feet on my 2014 Itasca sunstar 31ke , my insuranse company has said it is a known defect and refused to pay for a repair . Has anyone heard of this

Winnebago has had roof problems for years. My last coach was a 2016 Itaska suncruiser roof delaminated from the plywood. Had to replace the whole roof plywood, insulation and fiberglass to the tune of 30k

Is it a known defect? Do insurance companies typically cover defects? I was under the impression that they cover damage due to an accident or similar.
So my car had an issue where the shifter would not register when put in park and I could not kill the engine, would vehicle insurance have paid for that?

That’s horse sh*t. Your rig is over 10 years and for an ins agent to say it’s a known issue is crap. RV long or short it’s gonna start having some roof issues after 10/15. I did add a roof endorsement on my progressive policy with my rig but must be newer than 6 years and after 15 years of age, the endorsement goes away automatically. So…. unless you have roof wear and tear coverage on your policy, I don’t think you’re gonna get coverage.

Its been known for a long time. I can tell mine let go at some point. I will be addressing that before summer hits.
