I run 80what pressure are you running? IMHO anything over 80psi requires metal (Stainless Steel I always used) If 60 psi or less a short rubber stem should work, but remember to check frequently for cracking and dry rot, TST worked well for us
Sorry Chinese bombsJust bought the tires end of last year. We bought our 5'ver last Sept. and replaced the Chinese bond that were on the unit with better tires.
I have swapped all stems over to metal, and couldn't be happier. Definitely worth the upgrade having that peace of mind when running sensorsI just had a rubber valve stem fail in the middle of Nowhere, Nebraska. I am pretty sure that it was caused by the TPMS sensor working the valve stem back and forth. It was on a dual, and had an extension on it.
I had the tire store install a metal stem on that rim, but I removed all of my sensors for the rest of the trip.
IMHO, I would go with metal stems if putting something of any weight on the end of a valve stem, just for peace of mind.
