I have a conference to go to in San Diego this summer, any recommendations for a family-friendly campground in the area?

Saw that. Have you stayed there? We were also looking at Campland on the Bay (San Diego Best RV Campground | Beachfront Campgrounds & Tent Camping) and Santa Fe RV Park (Santa Fe Park RV Resort - RV Sites in San Diego, CA). The former looks better for the kids but wowza, what a rate.

I have not but I have stayed at a few sun resorts in California, who manages it, and they have all been very positive stays. By the way, they took over an existing operation, but they are building a brand new resort down the street that I imagine will be pretty nice. I may have read it would open in 2020. I have not been to the other two you mentioned. Bottom line, anything near water can be crazy expensive. SD is a neat place. Lots to see and do there.

Here is a link to the San Diego County Parks. We've stayed at Sweetwater Summit for a week. A few "derelict RVs" waiting at the entrance, but once in the park it was fine. We were in the higher/newer sites that I would recommend. Sites 61 -150. Site 129 is the best.
