Seattle Area Advice

I have a Chinook Concourse 2004 that I keep in storage near SeaTac Airport in Seattle. I have only had it a few months...the grey and black tanks were flushed.. just figured out where the bypass valves and drains are for tanks. Question for Seattle Area folks... Can I wait until the first week or two of this Dec to winterize with antifreeze? Hope to use it around Dec 10th for a few days. Thoughts on moving it south for winter to avoid having to winterize? Have a son in Tucson and friends in Phoenix.. Thanks

We used to live in Vancouver Canada. Seattle winters are similar. It doesn't "USUALLY" get cold enough to freeze until mid December. We used to just drain the hot water heater and blow out the lines after using it starting mid November. We camped in Anacortes and the Deception Pass area often in early December. We never had temps low enough to cause freezing damage but we did a proper winterization inc Antifreeze before Christmas. We watched the forecast and if was going to get really cold we did winterize earlier (I think only twice).

I believe you would enjoy a desert winter. We always traveled down the coast just so we would miss any snow on the I 5 passes. We aren't fans of big cities but there are plenty of nice areas reasonably near the Phoenix Area. Tucson is defiantly worth a visit. Actually, if you have not wintered south before, there are lots of places to visit, Yuma is probably the warmest. Anything along the Mogollon Rim and north is Cold (Flagstaff area)

I'm north of there out on an island and NORMALLY the cold days come in January with a week on either side. It's pretty rare that we say below freezing for multiple days, but it does happen. 2004 might be that dreaded Quest piping which don't take much to get damaged. If its PEX, that allows for some expansion before it gets damaged. I would worry about the water heater the most as the hate exchanger is very thin and will crack easy if frozen. I just drain mine at the heater, the valves underneath, and the fresh water tank, and put some anti freeze in the traps, Never had an issue YET......
