Video of an autonomous truck handling a steer tire blowout.
 
Yeah, that was sweat!
 
Anyone notice when the tire blew the steering almost instantly turned right (away from the side with blown tire) and mostly stayed turned?

There is a piece of tape on the centerline of the steering wheel. Must have had a hard pull toward side with blown tire.

And was this turning of the steering wheel as a result of the truck suddenly pulling left, a smart sensor telling the self driving software or was it an dumb automatic action that just always occurs?

Most importantly how did that standby driver manage to not grab that wheel!
