I know I need to dump my black tank, followed by my grey tank after a couple day stay at an RV park. What does it mean to have sewage hook up? does that mean you do not need to dump at the end because it dumps on its own while hooked up? I am very new to this and have not yet hooked up.

Do not leave the dump valves open when hooked up to the sewer.
1. You need accumulated liquid in the black tank to flush the solids. Otherwise you will end up with a hard pile of dodo, in the black tank.
2. With the dump valves open, you will invite all kinds of sewer creature inside your tanks, like roaches, or even rats.
3. Dump valves can get jammed with stuff stuck on them.

It means the sewer connection is at your campsite rather than at a central location that you have to drive to. @Buly is correct about leaving the dump valves closed until your tanks are about 3/4 full.

Agree with the Gents above. I only open the valves to dump and I also make sure my black tank is close to full prior to dumping. In most cases I need to add water
