Question Side View Mirrors

The DSDP side view mirrors create very large blind spots, especially the passenger side. This mirror can hide a large pickup truck easily. Granted i do not move fast and look three times at intersections, but it would be nice to use the A pillar space for side view mirrors.
In Europe the Electronic side view mirrors are legal, not yet in the US for passenger vehicles.
Getting rid of the external side view mirrors also would skinny up the RV to avoid narrow toll booths and wanderings semis while using the dead A pillar space be employed for a useful purpose.

Are you sure your mirrors are set up right? You should not have a blind spot for more than 1-2 seconds under a perfect scenario and you should see the approaching vehicle clearly in your convex until they are literally along side you. Only a fool would hang out there. Maybe get someone to help you or watch some YT vids I have seen on the topic to optimize your mirror set ups. You could use your cameras too for verification before turning or a lane change.

Marathon has e mirrors on the new builds and it’s not something I would want. It seems silly to have two sets of mirrors. I know some who have removed their exterior mirrors to rely on the e mirrors because it is legal to do so. They feel the 360 camera is a viable alternative if the e mirrors failed. I am not in that camp.

The blind spot I am referring to is the mirror housing itself blocking traffic approaching from the passenger side at intersections.
I’d like the electric monitor for a number of reasons, first is that the would remain free of exterior debris and once set would not require adjustment for seat position, also no longer worry about toll booths or wiggly truck trailers As much.

I am usually all about new gadgets this one concerns me some. I am adding side cameras I would not want e-mirrors to be may only side mirror. Electronics do fail and then what?

I know exactly what you mean @Joe Hogan , I have to rely on my DW copilot to give me the all clear, I hate driving solo and only do when needed
