We have a 28' travel trailer. Looking to buy a solar generator. Any suggestions? Doesn't have to power the AC, mainly for lights, water pump, fans, phone charging.

A solar generator is a consolidated Lithium battery with a bunch of features built in. Do you need the inverter part of it? I just put a Lithium battery and changed my converter in my similar TT. You may already have the updated convertor. Look for the model #.

Solar generators are making solar systems installers change their ways and become honest!

The cost is who is going to keep the solar generator manufacturers honest.

Roughly 1 year ago I told someone I had just met that he overpaid for an elaborate generator, and that he would have been better off pasting together a real solar setup.

Some people would have gotten angry with me,but he listened. We have Forged a friendship over the last year.

His pockets are deeper than mine so when his unrepairable solar generator gave up the ghost in less than a year or so it was not devastating for him.

Long story short, he isn't looking to replace it with the same mistake.

I get it! I am after all an old timer living off grid. I resist new tech, but not the way My grandad did. My base is hard earned. I don't research the way many people do now days.

Lithium tech is a good example of My research style. After a years reading every bit of research documents I could find,, back to those explosive beginnings, and understanding what.and why they are considered safe enough to see life outside of a lab. I still don't want a charged lithium bomb in My rig.

But it's not just about safety. I have over 400ah of dead lifepo4 cells stored without a watt of power in them waiting for a qualified disposal system I can turn them over to.

You might wonder how I got them? I took them off the hands of those who told me they were just going to dump them. At least LA chemistry has a recycle system in place.
