Good evening my Pace arrow has a solar panel on the roof just a small one but I don't think it's working because the little red light is not on says it's charging, has anyone replaced theirs? Traced the wires as far as I could but didn't get to far. Thanks for now
It was a gimmick anyways. Probably the same one on my Winnie. The little light makes you feel like it is doing something. My wire goes up thru the refrigerator vent on the roof and to the little printed circuit board on the level display and gen start and water control panel. This may be bad after all these years also. Let me know and I will send you mine. The original used light wire so you cant put a very big panel up there to replace it. IF you want to charge a battery or help, get someone with solar skills and put a larger modern panel on the roof.
Good morning thank you for getting back to me I will do a little more checking and like you said should look into putting a bigger panel on the roof. Take care
I have always wondered what that toy could be used for! I think I would hook it to a fan in that fridge vent to increase cooling capacity of the fridge.
I can't find my wiring print for you solar panel. But here is how it works.
The voltage feeds from the panel to 3 diodes in series. That diode package is paralleled with the red LED. The voltage drop across the 3 diodes allows the LED to glow. Then from the diodes/LED the voltage goes to a 3 amp fuse on the RV Custom Products Circuit board, under the hood. That energy is supposed to help keep the chassis battery charged.
I would suggest that minor solar system is not worth the time and energy to repair.
