What are they? Do schools use them anymore? Hmmm?
Skirting close to the prohibited area here for me per the rules.
History is written by the victors. History is often changed by those in power. Or just disappeared and replaced by a new narrative of the liking of those in power.
I've come to learn that so many of what we are lead to believe, institutionally, just is not true.

As hitler was already mentioned and not removed and/or the person not banned, I should be able to say this. What we have been taught about ww2 in europe, specifically the nazis is wrong, an artificial construct of justification. The nsdap (nazi party) were leftists. It's even in their name, socialists. Their party platform and the platform of the party they grew from, the german workers party (dap) wasn't much different than the soviet communist one. Look them up and you'll see.

WW2 in europe was a war that was started and mainly waged by two leftist dictatorships, each seeking to expand their empire. Eastern european historians understand this and a few modern books have been written about this.

So both sides there were bad. One side had to be morphed into what they were not (nsdap right wing) in order to justify a different POV of them to justify what happened after the war....the other leftists, their cousins, the communists won in europe.

I think that's all I can say due to the rules here. Hopefully this won't be disappeared and or me banned, but it's happened before.

All preparation my friends. This system will be put into action one day (I believe soon) . You don't want to be here 😉 They must get some pretty clear pictures of faces through our motorhome windshields!

do you find any difference between being in public and using facial recognition, vehicle license plate readers and computers to keep track of every place you've gone to and along the way for the last year and into the future indefinitely stored indefinitely?

I might not have had any issue with this, but the fact that the 'people' doing this are using our money to do it, monitor us and log us....and lying about it to us.
If it's on the up and up, why don't they just say they are putting in facial recognition cameras and license plate readers so they can document and track anyone at any time? They can even say it may solve a crime...but as we've seen, that's not the usually the case. They could use statistics and say that it might help them solve 1 out of 1000 crimes, or whatever the stat is. Some cities have had them in place for a decade or more and violent crime is still high there.
I did not say I was "OK" with it, only that when in public a person should not expect privacy.

and you believe what you are told? What they want to do, their stated desires, intentions?
There are hundreds of programs that were started "for the good" and have turned out to be a huge zero or worse, billions of negatives.
that's all I can say on that, but I hope you get my drift.

Here's one--put a governor in every motor vehicle that sets the max speed at 45 miles/hour. That's a lot safer speed to avoid or survive wrecks than any speed above that.
So they can actually, statistically prove to save lives, save the lives of children.
They can also cut down on gas consumption.
Maybe even saving some wildlife as I had a deer try to race my truck once.

The only cons of it would be it would take longer to get someplace. Well, that's a minor inconvenience when a person considers they are saving the life of children by just accepting the order to put a gov in your vehicle.

Back when MT had no speed limit, I found out rentals had them in to kick in at 120. Don't tell anyone that......
Guess you didn't comprehend what I said.

I did not say I was "OK" with it, only that when in public a person should not expect privacy.
True. I widened it a bit for illustrative purposes.
To me, public non privacy means people can observe you, take your picture, a vid of you flipping someone off, etc.

however to me, it's different when your movements are intentionally tracked, recorded, and stored into a file with your name on it....forevermore. That is a lot of resources for not much if it's just to help solve a small fraction of crimes. Most of the drive bys are done in stolen vehicles and cities are rife with auto theft. People are even using a burner phone, buying a vehicle for cash, then just using it as a burner vehicle for crime. There are areas/streets of cities that are notorious for being dumping grounds for stolen cars and/vehicles with bodies on them. Chicago has these "traffic cameras" with plate readers and not only is auto theft rampant, so are drive by shootings.

For all the money spent, budgets appropriated and personnel hired, there's just not any bang for that buck as far as actually solving crimes. Unless the person is a onsie, dummy, emotional impulsive...but they are easy to catch and prisons are already full of them.

I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong. I'm just saying govt is lying and it doesn't make sense.

The tickets w/ the fines for red light violations here came with a link to the video showing the violation. I've has several over the years and it was hard to argue with evidence. They widely used speed cameras in Germany, it was pretty simple, if you saw the light flash, expect a ticket and a fine. You weren't forced to pay up however. You just couldn't drive anymore if you chose not to pay.
