Spare tire location

I know there are threads on spear tire location I have a 1995 Southwind storm but I would really like to know what Fleetwood was thinking when they put a spare tire rack on the rear of the coach these tires are not lite, and they are over 100# and for a 70 year old they seem more like 300 anyway what do everyone else do about this problem

My spare is mounted in a storeage bin and weighs a lot more than 100 pounds! Last time I took it out, to check it and clean the storeage bin, I thought I was going to need a forklift to move it.

I got rid of the dead weight. The one and only time I had a flat in over 30 years of RVing, I had Roadside Assistance look after me. They were able to find a tire that would work (not the exact brand as the original). It was either that or tow us to a shop. Many coaches no longer come with spares.

And here I was using mine as a paper weight! Oh, that's right, just one more reason I don't have a MH anymore(at 72).

Fleetwood is notorious for adding the spare tire in a storage ben over the frame, in the 90s.
The previous owner probably moved it.
If it's too heave, call road side assistance to change it.
I would not travel without a spare.
I've had flat tires where a replacement tire couldn't be purchased for almost a week.
