Speed limit

I have a 33 foot travel trailer that weighs about 6500 pounds my question is while traveling down A 75 mph interstate what would be a good speed drive at?

Without being trite, it is the speed you are comfortable with. When we were pulling a 34' 5th wheel (about 11K pounds) some years back, we kept our speed to not more than 68 mph. That was a comfortable maximum speed for us.

And, during that time, we had a couple of situations when "panic stops" were required when situations suddenly occurred. In both cases, we were able to bring the truck/trailer combination to a full stop from 68 mph...with very little room to spare. For us, that validated our top speed choice.

You just need to feel confident that you can handle a sudden emergency situation safely at the speed you are traveling.

Exactly. I usually run right around 65 mph. Go the speed you are comfortable doing. Another thing to keep in mind is the faster you go the more fuel or gas you use. I had one truck and trailer that got about 12 mpg at 60mph, 10 mpg at 65mph, and about 8mpg at 70mph.

Other things you might keep in mind. Speed rating for the tires. Tires don't get hot when driving at lower speed and may get hot at higher speeds. Although very seldom followed some states have a trailer speed limit. fail to follow it may not get you a ticket but if in an accident you could be held at blame if your speed proves above it.
