Personally, I think this is pretty cool.

Around here, the space station passes overhead several times a month. It's the 3rd brightest object in the sky and it moves FAST! Anyhow, on a clear night, provided you know where and when to look, you can see it moving across the sky.

If you sign up for email notifications, NASA will notify you a day or so prior to it crossing your area. The date, time and coordinates are included so you know where to look.

I watched it pass over my house a few years back. That thing does move quite fast!

My DW is fascinated with watching the Space Station going overhead. She gets alerts and goes out to see it quite often. I must admit it doesn't do much for me, but I humor her and keep the peace. LOL . I do enjoy watching the rocket launched from my Lanai. Never get tired of that.

Yeah, my wife doesn't care much about it.

But when I look up and see this thing shooting across the sky, I think to myself that a little over a hundred years ago, two brothers were trying to understand the physics of flight. And now, we’ve been to the moon, landed probes on multiple distant planets, and have people living in space.

And then, I realize just what an accomplishment that light crossing the sky really is. :)
