Personally, I think this is pretty cool.
Around here, the space station passes overhead several times a month. It's the 3rd brightest object in the sky and it moves FAST! Anyhow, on a clear night, provided you know where and when to look, you can see it moving across the sky.
If you sign up for email notifications, NASA will notify you a day or so prior to it crossing your area. The date, time and coordinates are included so you know where to look.
