This time pine trees. Strangly enough I was watching hidden Japan on curiosity stream and saw a monkey chowing down on pine. Than saw their deer digging through the snow for grass with pine right next to them. Got me to wondering if you can eat pine. Turns out you can eat MOST pine and their inner bark. The inner bark can even be grounded into flour. You don't have to kill the tree to enjoy its fruits either. Small strips of bark will heal and not cause any long term damage when harvested responsibly. Or just making tea with the pine needles or harvesting the pine nuts or pollen when seasonally available.
