First post, sold the boat and bought a 2018 American Coach 44. All good except most of the controls on the Smart Wheel (wipers, cruise, etc) did not work. The diagnosis and fix was actually pretty easy. Disconnected the connector at the base of the steering column, had voltage on the upstream side, nothing at the connector at the steering wheel. Disconnected the connector at the steering wheel and checked for continuity between the base connector and the steering wheel connector, nothing. This pointed to the clock spring being bad. Removed the steering wheel, removed the old clock spring, got a new one from Freightliner the next day ($560), installed and all functions working fine. About 2 hours to diagnose and 2 hours to fix. So, if you are having problems this is a pretty easy DIY fix.
