We just got our RV back from required maintenance. We had two chassis batteries replaced. The steps worked at the dealer, but when I got home they no longer worked. I've checked the inverter to make sure it's on as well as the 12 V switch. I replaced the fuse. I can hear something trying to work in the steps but they won't extend. Any suggestions?

Check underneath for a loose ground or wire.

This Male? DC connector ? is attached to a purple wire and I can't find anywhere to plug it in! Is this what you mean?

Kwikee steps typically have one of three problems:
  1. Loose ground wire underneath (green wire typically)
  2. Bad motor (cheaper to get on Amazon)
  3. Bad controller (google to find them not too expensive either)
The ground wire is not grounded via a harness but a screw into metal somewhere. Inspect carefully. If intermittent it's likely a wire.

Thanks so much. I can hear a whiring noise when i close and open the door. We'll have to take it to the dealer as we are not able to do much more than change fuses etc.
