I also research. I have also worked the trades and know what really goes on. I also have a SIL from China so I am well versed in Visas and citizenship. Maybe you should seek other sources.
Oh Chinah makes you an expert. I do not get bottle fed what to believe. I am not sure your connections to the current work force or your real experience. But having owned a few companies in SoCal, my building a super structure in NY and my deep connections to the trades. I think I am qualified to speak to it. I also read what the local Florida farmers, like the rest of the US farmers are saying, they have no one to pick there crops. Many wasted in the field last year, not to mention the loss of worldwide crop sales.
So, I do not need a new source, some need to some listening to the talking heads and cross reference what you are believing

On jobsites, we'd sometimes stop working as what happens is the 'other people' watch how you do things. Some builders will hire skilled american tradesmen to do something...and have his illegals watch how they do it. Then a job or two, a house or two later, he no longer has a need for you as "his guys will do it".

Skills and knowledge has also been transferred to non americans. And americans have no one to blame for that but themselves.
Real world experience? Half of my crew was american and half hispanic. All legal. The hispanics out worked and out thought the younger americans. They did not look at their phones every two minutes, showed up on time and worked. The older americans where the same. The problem is you all coddled your kids way too much to the point of laziness or entitlement
