I have heard both pros and cons on Teflon disc's, they keep the hitch clean and grease free. They wear out fast and are expensive. What can anyone tell me?

Think the one I use is nylon. Teflon can be pressure formed, so I wouldn't use it.

Polyethylene (PE)
Durability: AOIT 5th wheel hitch lube plate made of sturdy Polyethylene (PE) offering extreme durability, stands up to the friction created on the king pin and hitch while pulling the 5th wheel.

To me wearing out fast would be 1 or 2 years of use. Fast to you might be 5 years of use.
And no they are not expensive.
The most expensive lube disc I found on the internet is only $21.85.

I wish I had taken a picture of the one I found. It's 12" in diameter, black in color .0366 thick. $122.00
5 year would tickle me pink.
