We recently had an issue with our Dutch Star, we were heading for Port Aransas, TX and along the way I noticed what appeared to be a power loss. We stopped and looked at everything and couldn’t find anything out of the normal. On the way home the issue persisted. Thought it might be poor fuel.

A few days later I found on the Newmar FB page someone referring to the CAC. I didn’t what that was and asked, found out it was the “Charge Air Cooler” for the turbo. I went out and inspected it, I discovered the pipe had come loose. It was very hard to see as it still butted up together. I loosened everything and completely reattached everything.

This made a very large difference in performance and mileage. I’ll inspect the rubber couplers for the CAC as part of my pre-trip from now on.

Great job on identifying and fixing! Saved the day :)

Surprising there was no code/codes.

Yeah, it was actually still connected but leaking very badly. Turbo still showed pressure.
