One of our favorite state campgrounds in about half a tank away from our home, HOWEVER, we still have to take a ferry to get off the island unless we wanted to drive north up the island, over the Deception Pass Bridge, them back down south, through Seattle and Olympia to get to the coast.
Its appox. 100 bucks round trip on ferry towing our trailer, or 6 hours going around plus fuel, WHICH is insane in Washington right now.
If you are ever wanting to see the Washington Coast, I can highly recommend this camping site, Grayland State Park.
The lower campground closet to the beach, walking trails to beach, is great. Set up in a loop type grid that makes for easy parking on paved back-ins. They do have a few pull-thru as well on the middle road (main). The same set-up in the upper campground and unlike the lower campground, they have sewers.

So we just returned yesterday from a weeks stay, most likely our last time there if we do move to South Carolina....

It's a pretty remote spot, a Walmart is about 30 miles away if you need something more than what the small local stores have.
Westport, Wa, is about 12 miles away, its a fishing community with LOTS of fish to eat and small shops on the waterfront.
They also run daily fishing trips on many boats, provide all your tackle, etc, you just need to purchase a fishing license.

If you have an AWD or 4X, you can drive on the beaches......

Some pictures.
