I need help with a color code for a 8 wire system thermostat on a 2001 26' fidfth wheel

What thermostat make / model?
Find the manual for that.
Don't just assume the colors are correct.

Thanks for the reply. I only have the wires. The original thermostat is missing. I have the heat functioning. Just need the AC now. Dave

Then you should find the other end of the wires and map them to the function of each wire. If this is a multizone system then they probably go to a "Dometic" Controller

or the equivalent. You should find out this information before thinking about replacing the thermostat as it all has to be compatible with rest of system. This isn't like a house thermostat where the same colors mean the same thing (if wired standard). On my Newmar the controller was in the master bedroom under the clothing drawers...so it can be "anywhere".

thanks, i'm pulling the ac cover, checking wire colors there

Note that if you have a multizone system, the thermostat doesn't plug into the rooftop units. They plug into the controller...

it's not multizone.

Even if its not multi-zone, if it controls an AC unit up top AND a propane furnace, it will have a controller between the t-stat and the units, and that controller might be in the AC unit. What make/model AC unit do you have?

While youre at it you might check this out:

This Coleman chart might help:
