Thor 2023 Class A vs Tiffin Phaeton 2017

I am looking at two RVs a Thor Class A 35 and a Tiffin Class A Phaeton 40 feet. Gas vs Diesel ? Diesel only has 36000 miles and Thor Hurricane has 13000.

about same price . Thanks in advance

For me, if both were within my budget for the initial price and the ongoing required maintenance, I would go with the Tiffin. Assuming you have inspected the units, or better yet have had an independent inspector go thru the coaches, and the condition is acceptable to you.

First off, the lifetime of a diesel engine is ~2.5 times that of a gas engine. A diesel @ 36k is not even really broken in. All other things being equal, comparing a Thor to a Tiffin is like choosing between a trailer house and a lakehouse in Tahoe.

With all due respect, you are not comparing Apples to Apples. If they still make it which I am sure they do. Buy a copy Motor home Comparison Guide By Randall Eaton. Get the facts before you buy anything. They probably have it on Amazon.

IMPO I would run away from the Thor, not walk, run very fast. That's just me. Read the book, read the RV Forums, ask for advice like you are doing.

Again in my opinion the TOP three motor homes A Class, at a semi reasonable price are Newmar, Tiffin, & Winnebago. Entengra is also in that class but might be at a higher price,

Look BEFORE you leap, it will save you thousands of dollars and heartache.

As others have said, Thor and Tiffin are in 2 separate leagues. Tiffin would be my choice.
