So I have a 17 foot tandem axle 3100lb ,and a 2005 1500 5.7 hemi 4x4, I have not towed camper with it yeat, or I have been looking at a 2005, 2500 4x4 with the same miles 170k on both.
Would it make sense to spend 14.000 on the 2500? I am planning on using the 2500 for a tow vehicle only, will it pull that mutch better than the 1500.
The 2500 is in very nice shape, not a rusty.

My 16 does fine specs are 10000tow same engine different trans. Well I'm talking ram, don't know if we're talking apples.

Thanks Kevin, also pondering trading in the 1500 and money down on something newer, 🙄 I really don't need two trucks.

In my opinion, a 1500 would do fine with that trailer. I don't think it's worth it to get into a 2500 for something so small.

I pull my palomino 3900 with my acadia 6 cylinder with no problem in my opinion you are all ready set up with more than you need!

Thanks for sharing your opinion, l thought I should be ok ,but my in laws think my 4x4 1500 club cab,is not up to the task, the next truck might be a little more heavy duty.
