Travel on the 101 in Nor Cal

I have a 36' 5th Wheel and need to travel from Oregon back home to Southern California. I will be leaving Oregon on December 15th and want to make a couple of stops. I am considering traveling the 101 but have never done it in the winter, or with a 5th Wheel. Thoughts on this during that time frame? Thank you in advance.

I’ve traveled it dozens of times in a 36’ & 40’ motorhome pulling a Jeep JK. Mid December should not be a problem at all. In fact 101 is maybe your best route at that time.
