Truck Washes

I've noticed truck washes at Loves and Petro Travel Centers lately. Do RVers use them? Is there a reason not to use them? One of my concerns would be about antennas and roof mounted equipment. Just asking.

I used Blue Beacon after going through a couple of dust storms on my way back home this year from West Texas and they did a pretty good job. They didn't do the roof, so I didn't have any issues with equipment up top. They probably won't be a regular stop for me, just if I need a quick wash.

I have used the truck wash at Walcott iowa at "The World's Largest Truck Stop" I was impressed they got on the roof and washed it as well as all sides.

No Love's or Petro truck washes on our travel routes but we do have Little Sisters truck wash in Thousand Palms (near Palm Springs). They charge $2/foot (plus tip) for hand wash and do a great job.

I read somewhere from someone that truck wash soap was not good for the membranes on the roofs of RV's. I don't remember where/when I saw this and don't know if it is reliable information. Are there automated truck washes that need to be avoided?

Regarding the OP's initial question, you should have no problem with rooftop equipment. I'm not sure about the washes at Love's, but most of your truck washes are actually hand-washed, somewhat like your corner car wash, where you wash your own car. The difference is that they have employees doing the washing.

I think the roof clearance would be good. I would be concerned with pressure on decades if you don have a full body paint
