I have a 2020 Geo Pro 19fd. The original fridge is a Dometic RM-2551-LB. I have all the dimension specs for this fridge. I am considering replacing it with a 12v 4.5 cubic foot fridge. I have contacted Forest River and received basic information about the 12v fridge that is being installed on newer type models. The new 12v fridge is either manufactured by Everchill or Magic Chef.

The width on the newer model fridge is about five inches narrower than the older model fridge when comparing the spec sheets. The depth and height are about the same. Has anyone attempted this upgrade that would care to share their experience? Thank you! Tom

With our previous TT we replaced the defective 3-way Dometic with a 5.0 CU 120VAC under counter refrig. Added a 12V to 120V 750 watt inverter, changed from a 12V 100aH battery to two 6V 100ah batteries in series, and replaced the original converter. Basically it fit the original hole and I trimmed it out to appear as a custom installation. I also designed, built, and installed a change-over system to supply power when 120VAC was available. Otherwise, it ran off of the inverter and battery.

As to a 12V-only refrig, be sure you have adequate battery capacity and adequate charging capacity.
