Hello All, new to RVForums
I have a question.
I have a 2020 337RLS
I'm thinking of upgrading from lead acid batteries to Lithium, currently still using my 6 year old Interstate lead acids.
Thinking of getting two 100AH batteries.
Would I absolutely have to also upgrade the converter?
I've heard that I don't have to but to keep in mind that the original converter would only charge the lithiums to 80%.
If I have to upgrade the converter, what converter would you recommend?
Also, what charger would you recommend for when I need to charge the lithiums when not in the trailer (in storage)?
Thank you in advance.
Greg

No you would not have to. You still would have a lot more useful battery power with only 80%. One small solar panel in the system would add to the charge. I have installed 30 WFCO convertors and have had no failures. I have a couple installed in my own setups. The new AD versions(auto detect) do work. Check with the manufacturer of the Lithium batteries you buy about which maintainer they recommend. Lithium batteries usually say to store them at 50% SOC. A simple disconnect switch on the negative terminal will work.
