Any idea how many in total are going to be deployed? I sure hope they can handle the demand. Worried about what this is going to cost for any decent speeds.

You are driving an expensive, highly modified Newmar motorhome and you're worried about cost, I heard someone say.

They are talking about 12,000 eventually for world wide coverage. Apparently with 1,000 they will be able to get competitive speeds and coverage over North America. There are several more launches in the next few months so they are chipping away at the 1,000 goal pretty fast.

Touche haha

Seems like I left a mark?

This is very exciting technology. Who knew the speed of light is faster in a vacuum of space than on earth in fiber or even the atmosphere! By a lot! Consequently Starlink is going to shave latency between far flung destinations. Global Traders will pay many millions of $$ for that speed. Remember the fiber optic wars among traders when HF trading got its start. Making room on the roof of the RV and the house for these satellite receivers:)

According to this filing, SpaceX filed paperwork asking for approval of 30,000 sats in LEO, FCC has already approved 12,000.
