Hi there
My wife and I are planning a trip east (starting mid-April) from near Salem Oregon, visiting in Boise, then we want to nose around the Rapid City areas..east from there all the way to S. Central Pennsylvania. Along the way we’re hoping to find a trouble free route past Chicago…?
I did this last year westbound and used 30 out of PA (Lincoln HWY), then 224, and 24 through central Ohio and Indiana (Wooster to Wabash to Peoria to Davenport basically) to avoid the whole Ohio toll scam and Chicago traffic mess. Nice roads, pleasant small towns, easy pace, plenty of good services. Going east it will be the same. 30 will take you right into S Central PA and straight to Pittsburgh if youre not careful.
