We just brought an Intech Sol Rover. We love the large car facing window and king size bed. However, one of the main uses for our camper is to stay at our son's off-the grid home site with no running water and no sewage disposal. The closest water disposal is 11 miles away. Unfortunately, the oversight when we purchased the camper is not realizing that the grey and black wastewater are combined into one tank. This means we cannot release the grey water on his land as we've done in the past, and the tank fills up fast making the 22-mile-long trip to dump the wastewater more often. Checking with Intech, there isn't really anything that we can do about it. Can anyone possibly help us, give any recommendations or suggestions. My husband is reconsidering as to whether we keep our camper.

Apparently your son's 'off the grid home site' doesn't have a septic system (yet?). Is there an outhouse? I'm thinking of the typical Alaska cabin without running water that only has an outhouse. Can you add your RV waste to the existing outhouse using a transfer tank or create another hole in the ground (septic system like) more suitable for the larger volume of an RV within the property's legal requirements?

If your tow vehicle can accommodate a 55 gallon barrel then a maserator pump can fill and empty the barrel shortened the trips at low cost.

I usually transported the drum on it's side.

Other options exist depending on your son's opinions.

In AZ this system is approved. I use composting toilets exclusively nowadays, and recommend them highly.

One more thing! Gray water that never sees the inside of a holding tank ( seeing only a garden hose or dish pan can be emptied/drained on public land.

For the record this holding tank requirement includes a bucket not immediately emptied.

The single waste/sewage tank is a great arrangement for some using serviced camp sites, not so great for those with extended stay dry camping/boondocking. Offering a single valve to open and without a black tank flush, the sometimes 3:1 ratio of grey to black gives you a good flush when emptying.
Your really have three options:
Tear open the underbelly and re-engineer your grey disposal to a separate valve, leaving the holding tank for black only. I wouldn’t do it.
Get asuitable tote arrangement to dump and dispose of your waste/sewage on a more regular basis. Best choice if you don’t mind an 11 mile trip every few days.
Trade the unit and get one with separate holding tanks. Allows the routine you are used to. Good luck.
