…and because I’ve seen countless posts from new owners of used RVs (mainly on Facebook) with seemingly stupid questions (sometimes making me wonder if it’s a joke) but actually good questions stemming from being thrown the keys with little or no info provided, I’ve compiled a list of stuff I think the new owner needs to know to maximize enjoyment and minimize issues. Below is my list, and your input on anything I’m missing would be nice.
I’m delivering the coach and spending two days with the new owner in a week or so to go over everything and do some open road and closed course driver training. I don’t know how much chassis maintenance he’ll do himself so I’m leaving that for now. I’m trying to be prepared and organized so I can get it all done in two days.
The list so far:
Driver Controls:
TPMS and manual
Comfort Drive, what it does and doesn’t do, etc
LBCU ops and manual
Allison trans control panel and manual
Active air controls and manual
J1939 connection and “shorting plug”
GPS and dash cam
Spotlight and remote
Smart wheel: wipers, lights, high idle, cruise control, etc
Mirror controls and heater
Back up cam, radio and manual
Dash icons
Warm up and cool down
Seat controls, wiring, turning seats
Monitor cabinet:
Salesman switch
tank and battery monitor, heat pads etc
Inverter/charger ops and manual
Slide ops and precautions
PCI EMS and manual

Solar basics, MPPT manual, Victron app
Battery bank maintenance, solar connections
