@Jim that’s what I have. There’s an added benefit but I’ll leave it to your imagination what that is. Huh what?
Those are what the VA gave me this time - they work well. When you pick them up, ask about "Roger": it's an accessory that really helps you hear in noisy environments, and also connects your TV to your hearing aids via Bluetooth.
Yeah, I feel like a kid waiting on a new bike! :)

I had Phonak before and they were better than what I have now. I have Jabra now from Costco and they suck. They do make a world of difference. But beware you won't have an excuse now for not hearing Trish...LOL

Finally admitted to myself that I need to seek professional assistance with my hearing. Years of unprotected firearms usage, workplace noises, and concerts in my younger years, all of which has contributed to me missing a lot of what people are saying. Plus, I’m tired of Trish asking me, “what’s that clicking sound?” lol.

So, I took a step in the right direction and scheduled a hearing examination with a specialist, and we’ll see what they have to say. Anyone else having problems with hearing high pitched sounds or in environments with background noise?
yes. I have aids now and added benefit. They link through phone to map apps and speak directly in ear while driving RV.

Oh, I’ll hear her just fine… but selective hearing is a skill I refuse to give up. Some talents are worth preserving!

I have played keyboard/piano in bands (still do) and notice that drummers and guitarists often have hearing loss in upper...pitch? One day during a rehearsal, I exclaimed about a ruckus that birds were carryong on outside - turns out I was the only one hearing the birds.
Once I was at my folks' ranch, and commented on the frogs singing after a rain - Dad says "what frogs"? Made me sad.
But my son gets upset every time I turn the lighter on our gas cooktop and accidentally leave it too fat toward the "ignite' button - he says it has a high-pitched squeal - neither Bob nor I hear it.

Sooooo I decided that I have had enough of poor quality hearing aids. My last set Jaba from Costco were the worst. I took them back three times, and they still didn't work right. And since I moved back to NE PA seven years ago Costo in the Lehigh Valley is 1.5 hrs away.

Years ago I got a set of Miracle Ear hearing aids and they lasted over 5 years. They are pricey so I was hesitant to go back, but I did. Just got a new pair with all the bells and whistles, rechargeable, blue tooth, app to iphone, 3 programs, 35 digital channels, water proof and three year guarantee for $6700 a set....ouch.

I still have a business and can not hear what the hell my customers are saying on the other side of the counter. I have had hearing loss for almost 40 years. So I need a set as good as they get.

About hearing the high pitch. My family doctor told me years ago that our hearing is proof that God has a sense of humor. Men, as we age tend to lose our hearing in the higher range (think women's voice). Women on the other hand, tend to lose their hearing in the lower range (think men's voice)

My co-workers scheduled an appointment for me. They were tired of me asking “what did you say?” Also said I was embarrassing myself answering clients questions that had nothing to do with what they asked me. Amazing difference. Really eye opening to what was being missed. Birds singing, wind in the trees. They have helped tremendously except I still can’t hear crickets or frogs. ( not a bad thing).
Oh you don't know what you are missing. Grew up in the swamps of Florida and there is nothing like listening to the crickets and frogs croaking during a rain storm. What a relaxing time at night laying there trying to sleep and listening to God's orchestra playing a symphony. You don't know what you have missed not hearing that!
