Attended a seminar put on by WFCO, the largest RV converter supplier, by a wide margin.
Even though our RV does not have a Converter, it was a very informative seminar.

First topic was what does a converter do and not do.

A Converter converts 110v to 12v to charge batteries or run appliances. If the Converter has a 75amp output limit and a RV is requesting 10amps, the Converter will supply the requested 10amps.
A Converter will NOT take 12v and make it 110v.

A couple of take aways,

If you have solar panels and a converter when on shore power, in most instances the converter should be used to charge batteries rather than solar. The converter provides more amps than most small solar panel setups.
A WFCO Converter will run the fan anytime it has a load.
A newer WFCO Converter with the AutoDetect feature will detect battery chemistry automatically adjust charge voltage. However, the default Converter voltage for lithium batteries may need to be adjusted to battery manufacturer specs. Some lithium batteries charger at 14.6 others 14.8.
