Typically camp ground require dogs to be on a shorter leash.

Personally I see nothing wrong..

We had a chow/lab mix that absolutely hated getting her paws dirty....she would be doing exactly the same and avoiding the grass as much as possible, especially if it were damp at all.

This appears to all be within normal parameters:
- Dog is leading her person
- Dog read the post by @Jim about Camp Crybaby and is playing it safe and staying off the grass knowing some campgrounds have particular rules

Dog has to be on a leash while maniac kids are allowed to run around free.

In all seriousness, our dog used to prefer the sidewalk to the grass for walking.

For my sunny Florida days, maybe because their might be very hot tarmac, and pupster is barefootin'it? Or not using a force-spreading chest harness the dog can't back out of or choke in from a hard pull?
