Good call Kevin, rechecked the Cummins Spec sheet. It calls for 15w-40 for Motorhome Application. Change order to reflect this product.

Mine has 67,000 miles on it now and it still doesn't use any oil so I never add between oil changes. I change my oil at 7500 miles (and it was well maintained for the first 17k before I bought it) so maybe if I ran it out to 15k like the book says I might see some usage but I just can’t do that.

Mine only holds five gal so if it ever got low I’d top it off. Also you should confirm what oil is in it for break in if there is any provision for this, and even if they don’t consider it break-in oil, stick with what’s in it (weight and type, not necessarily brand) at least until your first oil change. If it doesn't have synthetic in it now I wouldn't add it.

Also per Cummins you can use 5w40 but it is intended for temps down to -30° and unless you are operating in those temps you don’t need it. Won’t hurt anything but 15w40 is recommended for “normal” usage.

Mine doesn't use any oil either. Never had to add yet.
