Hey, C'mon! That's a steel framework he's got under that 5th wheel. It could have been built out of 2x4's.
And besides....he's used those straps twice before.....they're already stretched out as far as they're gonna get.
(Yeah......tongue-in-cheek.)

He's a braver man than I. I've seen a trolley/dolly thing sold that accomplishes essentially that, one may be where he got the inspiration. I have to confess, I think I'd pay money to see him do a panic stop from about 45 MPH or so. Just to see what happens.
