Us too. Found a nice little RV Park in Fort Davis (MacMillan RV) but a different story in Big Bend. We were there in November (off season we thought) and there were vacant NO sites in Rio Grande Village power or non power. We waited in the parking lot for someone to leave and quicky snapped up the vacant spot. Next time we will know to reserve! Hoping for winter of 2017.

Not as scenic nor as sexy as others, but I finished up my second trip to Nappanee in the last two months. This one was to upgrade the house batts to Lithium at SES. I now have 600 a/h of lithium to play with. We’ll see if I do anything with solar or more batts in the future. My boondocking is pretty much limited to Harvest Hosts about 10x/yr and some dog show venues. For now, this will do.View attachment 32726View attachment 32727View attachment 32728

Congrats and welcome to the world of Lithium and asking yourself "why didn't I do this before?" Now what are you going to do with all of that storage space? I can see a nice blue Victron Solar Controller at top center, some amazing boondocking potential now at the dog shows and HH. Can't wait to hear your first impressions. For another thread obviously...but congrats on this great decision.

First stop on our late 26 trip is at Travelers Rest in Dade City Fl. Lots of rain so no golf, but we have the run of the campground as no one else is here.

St. Vrain State Park Firestone, Colorado


I am back on my original schedule staying at St. Vrain State Park before I head off to WY, SD, MT, ID, and UT. I will spend some time in late September at the Colorado State Rally with the NKK Kruisin Aires in Delores, CO and then onward to the NKK Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, NM the first week of October. From there I will be heading for my Winter home in Casa Grande, AZ arriving October 15.

This scheduled layover is to get a few items squared away at my home dealer TransWest in Frederick, CO as I won't be back in the area until late April next year. The parts I had on order are in and I will be getting things tidied up this week before heading off.

The Front Range has a heavy haze from all the smoke from the wildfires in CO, UT, and the Northwest. You can't see the mountains during the day because of the smoke and it makes for some interesting sunsets.

Just left Suwannee River Rendezvous (in Mayo Fl.) and all the rain there along with the accompanying mud to arrive at Pensacola RV park (which is a dust bowl ) so the coach and Jeep are quite filthy. Little to none ATT or T mobile service at Suwannee. Site was level with a small shelter and cable along with all the rain you can stand. The former office and restaurant was destroyed by Hurricane Debbie along with a huge Oak that they used to hang convicts from over the spring (which is called convict springs) You can see the flood levels marked on the tree in the picture. Pensacola RV has excellent T mobile and ATT service, just waiting for rain here to wash some of the crud off the vehicles.
