Hey all, anyone have some contact info for Whirlpool? We have residential fridge in our Bay Star, and the tabs that hold up the trays on the door are breaking off. I live in Canada and for the life of me cannot find anything on Whirlpools website that works. The dealership has quoted me 1600 dollars for a new door, that ain't happening. NewMar gave me a link to the Whirlpool site but the site is so hard to navigate. Thanks

Have you reached out to residential appliance repair company? They should be able to assist in getting you correct part.

As you have discovered, those tabs are paper thin platic fill wit styrofoam. You cannot put anything with any weight on the door, unless it is on the very bottom - not a hanging shelf. A bottle of soda, water etc. will break the on the road every time. Don’t ask me how I know.

Thanks for the reply NWIP, but the part would be the whole door. The nubs that hold the shelfs in place are molded into the interior panel of the door and are a thin plastic that has ripped off. I used wall panel adhesive to attach the first one that ripped off but it is not what you would call a work of art. The only real solution for me is that Whirlpool would warranty the door. Have a great summer.

What is the model number of your frig?

Hey Neal, the model number listed by Newmar is WRT111SFD04. Tried this number on the Whirlpool website but it is not listed. I am going to the motorhome tomorrow so will look in the fridge itself to see what I can find

Thanks CivEngPE: Pi still r round.

Apparently one can order just the inner panel. I will have to keep this in mind.Newmar ordered me a new door when it was under warranty. Refrigerator modelwas already discontinued and Whirlpool had to manufacture a new door (my entire door fell off off while driving).

Thanks, I will try to see if I can get one out of Canada. Have a great summer.

I had the same thing happen. What I did was to drill a hole in each side of the tray and a corresponding hole in the inner door liner. I used Riv-nuts in the inner door panel and 8-32 screws along with ½” thick spacers to hold the trays to the door liner. It’s been rock solid. Much less costly (around $10 in parts) than a door replacement.

A complete refer same or updated model can be purchased from the usual big box retailers for less than $600, another option.

Thanks Steve. How did you get the riv-nuts to stay in place? It looks like it is all foam behind the panel, did that hold the nuts? Thanks

The Riv-nuts compressed tight enough to grab the thin door liner material. I used the spacers to take up the space between the tray and door liner so as not to pull on the Riv-nuts when tightening the screws.

Thanks again Steve, there is not much door liner left where the "nubs" that hold the shelfs in place where. When the shelf came off it took most of the door liner with it. The same thing happened last week to the top shelf, and all it had on it was a dozen eggs. Clean up is another whole story. Will try the adhesive again as it seems to work, just a real ugly fix is all. Thanks for the help, enjoy the rest of the summer.

Another idea is velcro. Believe it or not, when the refrige door fell off, I set it back on the hinge bracket (the hinge pins at the bottom broke off.), so I velcroed the door shut and it held for the next two days on the road, until I got to the Service Center, where they replaced the hinge and set the door height properly.
I use 15 lb velcro on everything. I even forgot to remove the video doorbell and drove 150 miles or more before I disvcovered still attached to the MH.

Thanks AbdRahim, I have been giving some thought to trying those 3M Command hooks to see if they would work. Thanks again
