Who has fishing gear on board?

Who are the ones around that like to fish? What kind of fishing gear do you travel with? How often do you go fishing and what type?

In the past year I decided to get a few small rods/reels and get back into fishing. Catch and release as there is no way I'm chopping the head off of that thing! Too sad! My fishing skills aren't quite up to snuff, I catch a lot of grass and junk pretty good though. But it's a lot of fun when the CG is around a lake and I can get out of the coach and go practice casting.

The down side is fishing licenses. I really wish there was a federal license, i.e. buy one that covers all the states as I hate having to buy one for each state.

I used to fish a lot before RV...had flats boat and fished the backwaters around Naples/Marco for snook and redfish. On our trip last year, I wished I had a rod/reel...this year I have one ready to go and a small bag with hooks, jigs, plastic baits, etc. Hadn’t given the license thing a thought until I read your post...when in doubt, plead ignorance.

I have a few, can’t remember how many. I have 2 rod holders that I have hanging from the frame rails, 1 for salt water poles (think 4 rods) and 1 for fresh water (another 4 or 5 rods). Oh yeah plus my fly rod, tackle box and box of fishing reels with probably 8 reels.
Agree with @Neal for some sort of national fishing license. Currently it is a expensive proposition and I probably spent approximately $500 last year.

I know FL has a 65+ rule of no fishing license "to residents". I would assume other states have the same 65+ rule. Now will our FL 65+ age exemption be accepted in other states?

Yes Florida as many other state have an exemption for “seniors” But I am yet to find another state that will honor Florida’s exemption. Each state sets the length and cost of non-resident permits.
