I've always wondered "should I move to Florida" as I love sun, water, etc. Maybe just sticking to RV trips is the answer? This is actually a pretty good video, I watch his stuff from time to time. But I welcome opinions from the Floridians that care to watch and comment.

It is not “Florida” any longer. The tropical slow paced relaxing life is gone. Forty or thirty years ago it was paradise. I always said I’d never leave but now live in NC mountains and we bought a Coachman Galleria to travel.

FL humidity and temps aren’t much different from what we have here in VA. What is different is the sun’s intensity.

This year I realized that I will not be in VA from June through August. So I'm definitely out of here next year this time for someplace cooler.

Yeah, up here it's fairly indifferent. :)

Having grown up in Florida and with family in Va. Bch. I promise, the heat and humidity ain't even close to the same.

We left good ole Mississippi in late June (month later than usual and a month of extra heat). Just got back this week a month earlier than usual and yes it's hot. Leaving again in 3 weeks for a hopefully cool Tennessee trip. We have several friends who live in Florida, but they travel from April thru October. Something about the heat and humidity.

I could only listen to/watch about 6 minutes of his biased crap.
I am a native Floridian and live in the Florida Panhandle. This is Florida. All that big money/tourist/retiree crap is on the penninsula and has turned a beautiful state into a parking lot. It's hot as hot here as it is in the California desert, Southern Missouri, or the Iowa farm belt. All those places have snow in the winter, too.

No one ever retires and moves up North...

Were it not for all the big money, tourists and retirees, the panhandle of Florida would be South Alabama. Go up 25 miles inland and it is. The #1 industry and #1 employer in the Panhandle, from Pensacola through Panama City, Beach anyway, is the military ( PNAS, Hurlburt Field, Eglin AFB, Naval Station Panama City, Tyndall AFB) and tourism. When I was a kid down there in the 60's Destin was a fishing pier and a mullet boat.

He has’t been in NY. Living on the water is not much different in NY (spring floods). I would not live on the water anywhere. Hurricane go through , Ga, SC, NC. NW Ga has tornados. La, floods, hurricanes. For me an HOA is a dealbreaker, anywhere. Toll roads are in the tourist areas. You pick your poison. Everywhere has something. In the inner city of NY a can of soups has been over $4.00. Houses in the nicer sections of Long Island, CT, etc are unaffordable for most people. Yes the heat and humidity in Fl are oppressive, but it was nearly as hot and humid inIN this summer. Winters in Fl are wonderful - all four weeks of it.😂😎. Many who can afford it leave in the summer. Of course many in the NE leave in the winter. Take your pick. Yes car insurance is double in Fl compared to NY. But every state has their own way to get your money (I know car insurance money does not go to the state, but every state has some expense that exceeds many others).

But, like the man says, Fl is terrible. Don’t move there.😎 The worst part is there are too, too many of those humans there.

I am curious, why do you want to live in all that humidity and heat? The west ( desert) is dry and sunny.
Because desert :p

I grew up in “all that humidity and heat”. I like it.
I lived in Maine, in the snow for 10 long years. I will no longer even visit snow. When it snowed in Pensacola in January 2025, I was absolutely pissed off. We got 9 inches and I refused to go outside until it melted.

We have spent two nice long trips to Florida during the winter. We really like the gulf coast. The first trip was about 15 years ago, and we especially enjoyed the Naples area. Also, it is wonderful to drive the Overseas Highway to Kew West with the magnificent view you get out our big coach front window. Our second trip was 3 years ago, and we were shocked at the crowds everywhere. It was an amazing difference. Too bad. Judy D
