Window repair

We have a 2004 gulf stream endura. One of the windows on the slide out leaks. The channel the window sits in, and slides open and closed, is missing at the top. It seems like it's a plastic channel, from looking at the bottom of the window. Does anyone have any idea where we can get repair parts? Or ideas on how to DIY a repair? Thanks

I had a leak on a sliding window recently where water climbed over the bottom portion of the frame and spilled over into the inside of the coach.

The rain water being able to fill up the bottom of the track and climb over the frame to the inside made no sense because there were slots cut into the outside surface of the lower frame that drain the window frame's outboard lane.

Starting at the bottom, I peeled out the trim moulding that sat in that outside outer "lane" of the window frame, (the inserted rubber moulding sits outside along the sliding pane half of the window). It was easy to get it started coming out because shrinkage over time had made a gap where the moulding ended at the center (at the edge of the fixed pane adjacent to the sliding pane). Stuck a paint can opener hook there and pulled the rubber trim gently out.

I found a "dirt dam" located such that water coming down the slider pane into the outer lane that should have gone out the nearby / adjacent drain slot on that end and drained away could not drain away. So the rain water accumulated, went over the dividing rib and filled up the frame on the inside, ending up as a small puddle on the floor.

The dirt dam got built by accumulating fine dirt coming thru that end gap where that inserted moulding had pulled back from shrinking it's length over time. Kind of crazy to have that happen. I routinely check those drain slots in slider window frame lowers to make sure they are open. Never thought to unseat the rubber trim moulding right there (moulding there keeps leaves from going into that lane that the slots drain) to see if there was hidden blockage nearby under the rubber trim!

Your missing slider pane guide lane plastic at the top is annoying, but a leak to the inside seems less likely to enter from up there unless a heavily blowing rain pushes water up and over the top edge of the sliding pane.

Pictures would have been informative: did not think to photo the dirt dam at the time, but can make some pix this weekend of how that area is configured, pulling up that rubber moulding to show the exact spot. Thanks!

That happened to me, I removed all the little funnel pieces that route the water out and never had a problem again.
