For those enjoying the open roads this winter, where are you heading? How are campground reservations looking such as availability and price?

For those heading to Florida, which I am hoping to head to, how hard is it finding decent campgrounds?

Please share your observations of occupancy, etc. as winter travel progresses.

Well, where we are in FL (The Tides RV Resort) across the bay from St Pete the only month they are full is Feb.

They are running deals to try and get more people to come.

So far, our winter travels that began October 01 in North Dakota, we have traveled thru South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida and now back in Alabama, we have not been in a single RV Park that has been full. We had prebooked most of our trip last August to make sure we could travel all of Florida. In the past, Southern Florida was fully booked before we had a chance. We are no longer booking parks for the rest of our trip that will include Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, (maybe California if fuel prices aren't too stupid) and up the west coast to Canada. It's almost like traveling pre COVID. Here's hoping it will continue.

We have not noticed any decrease in pricing that we have been able to take advantage of since our schedule was fixed in stone. Many parks are now offering deals such as pay for six nights and get the seventh night free. It would be nice to get rid of booking fees and extra fees to "hold your site" and a reduction in nightly costs would be nice too.

Not going anywhere, BUT....
The price of a barrel of oil has gone from over $76 to $55 in just the last 6 months!
Need to take a motorhome trip to take advantage of the price of gas!⛽

Curious of the Diesel prices people are seeing as well.

We are hovering right around $3.00 here in Oklahoma. The Southeast quite often 5-10% under that.

I was watching CBS national news last week. They reported gas prices have dropped .06 cents a gallon from a year ago. Here in Colorado our prices have dropped from 3.49 to 2.00 over the last year. What planet do they live on?
