The good news is we're going back to Mammoth in a couple weeks and the bathrooms will be open!

Anyway, would rather have the bathrooms closed than deal w the mass of humanity over this past MDW. We were accommodating my daughter and her boyfriends work schedule so no choice on the timing.

YS never fails to produce stunning wildlife and this trip was no different. While we didn't see wolves, or sheep all the other mega-fauna was observed.

Next trip is in July on a 3 day guided wolf watching program. We're staying at the Lamar Ranger Station which will be a unique experience in and of itself. The program is a daily hike from 6a-3pm, siesta, food, and then a drive to until dusk spotting from the road. Thankfully I won't have to endure driving other than getting to Lamar Valley and leaving.

I will be covertly packing on those 3 hikes for sure!

Back from the above mentioned seminar. Turns out reality was 3 mornings much time spent w the all the other tourists and those w "big optics" (BO) dominating the mob so it was slightly disappointing. At times I found it more like a roadside cocktail party w an occasional glance at the wolves, bears, and many other interesting animals and birds. I feel misled on the daily itinerary based on the course description.

Staying at Lamar Buffalo Ranch aka Lamar Ranger Station is a rare treat and I would highly recommend. Book a seminar at Yellowstone Forever and go!

My personal opinion.....I think these National Parks, and especially Yosemite, get a budget for the year. They don't get to keep any excess they may make over the budget. Consequently, they have no desire to do better or the money to fix broken things. The cottages at the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite are $700.00 a night. Half of everything in them is broken.

Come on, man... we all know you're the handyman, Don.
