No RV experience here, but in the beginning stages of planning a family (4) trip to the Black Hills and Yellowstone this summer. Planning to rent either a class C motorhome (around 30') or a trailer (around 22') to pull with our Ford Explorer. There are some obvious advantages of a motorhome, however the concerns that I have are 1) Driving and parking the motorhome at multiple attractions each day, and 2) Having to set up and connect/disconnect at the campsite every day. Obviously, a trailer provides much more flexibility but wondering about others opnions with Black Hills and Yellowstone experience. Thank you!

Welcome to the forum. We took our 40 footer through there with out too much of a problem. It's hard to find a place to park when you see a herd of Elk or a bear because there's so much traffic in the summer. You can, however park at the Old Faithful lot without problems and take a car/truck from there as we did or there are tour busses also. The roads are fine for whatever you drive though. It's a cool place. Enjoy.
