I have an account but am out of my home zip-code. Trying to watch the NASCAR race on live streaming but can't seem to be able to get rid of the box in the middle of the picture. Is it possible to get it to go away? Not sure what open link on chat means.

Where is that message coming from? Sure doesn't look official or professional.

YouTube tv will not work outside of your area code. There are several others that do the same thing. I opted out of YouTube for that reason and price going up.

what Neal said though is true. That does not seem offical.

take a look at Sling TV. A bit cheaper and NASCAR. .

@Neal @BGMAC ... thanks for the information. I will do some more research. To answer @Neal's question, it's probably coming from whoever wants me to pay more money!

YouTube will prompt that you're out of your local area and allow temp use. I never got cut off. Now I'm using a VPN located in my home state so YouTube TV thinks it's there.

I second what Neal says about YouTube prompting when it senses I'm out of the area. An official dialog will come up, asking if this is a "Permanent" or "Just Visiting" location.

A couple insider tips I suggest to keep things smooth:

1. I always verifying any issues with YouTube TV via a CHROME browser. Since they're both a Google product, the Chrome extension assures that I'm able to access and administer YTTV correctly.

2. For NASCAR on AppleTV, I don't use their app; only the YTTV app on AppleTV. You didn't mention WHAT the viewing source is; whether a SmartTV, AppleTV, etc. I've not had very good luck with even a high-end SmartTV's YTTV app.

I’m experimenting with Directtv. Love Youtubetv but being full time they cut off my service if I don’t log in within my “home” area every 3 months. I tried having a family member log in on their tv but that didn’t seem to help. We are out of our area 5 -6 months at a stretch. Only had Directtv about 2 months but no issues so far.
