Garmin RV 895 vs RV 1095

My frustration with the Xcite navigation system in my 2022 Ventana will soon me coming to an end. I am going to get either the Garmin RV 895 or the RV 1095. I'm undecided regarding size... 8 inch screen vs 10 inch screen. My question is for those that are using one of these what your feeling is regarding the screen size? Is the 8 inch large enough to view comfortably or is the 10 inch screen better?

I appreciate what you're saying and I agree for the most part. My concern is having too large of a device on the dashboard. The RV 895 is larger than the Xcite screen which is readable for me.

Included with the RV 895 is a suction cup mount. Will this secure the device to the dashboard?

I have the 895 and it's perfect for me...I use the suction cup and mount it on the drivers side window so it doesn't block the view of my side view mirror and nothing in front of me. I think bigger might not be better in this case...and I'm a bigger is better kinda person

Didn't mount mine on the dash. I fabbed up a RAM mount setup and mounted it where both my wife and I can see it. Top edge only sticks up about an inch above the dashboard.

I have the 1090 mounted on the dash of our Class A.
I like the bigger screen under any circumstances, but the best reason is that it is big enough for both driver and passenger to see and use.
My wife often takes over navigation on busy or difficult roads.

890 here. I mount mine on the dash a bit toward center so Navigator DW can get a view of what's going on. No regrets, no need for the larger version. Per @Neal recommendation, got the Ram mount.

1095 here. It is BIG but there is a lot of information displayed. The 1095 is almost too big but it works in my application. Mounted on driver side window with suction cup. It is covering the A pillar. Not mirror nor windscreen.
I can see using the smaller unit if mounted closer to the driver.

Also a 1095!! There is a an indention (Newmar version of a package tray) on top middle of dashboard pad. I use a adhesive suction cup mount there, and then use the suction cup mount for the "1095"! Does not block my view, as it is in line with the right side windshield "A" pillar.
Really like the size. And keep my old Garmin "770" as a back up. Last update about 90 days ago.

Thanks everyone for your responses... I ordered the RV 895 and it is being delivered today. While I'm in Colorado having some annual service done on my Ventana at my dealer I will get it set up.

I received my RV 895 yesterday and this morning I came up to my dealer where I have my coach parked in their campground waiting on my service appointment this week. I connected it to my Starlink WiFi and did all the updates... I read on another Forum that some have had connection issues with Starlink but mine was seamless...

The RV 895 is going to work out well for me size wise and now I need to figure out the best mounting location. The provided suction cup doesn't want to secure to the dash but it will to the driver's side window. I believe I can get a suction cup mount that will adhere to the dash so I will check that out.

Now I will spend time reading the manual to learn how to use the RV 895. Thanks again for the input here...

Glad you like it. This is what I use:

RAM adhesive mount

Medium arm (if needed)
