I welcome anyone and everyone to add to this list of what you carry in your RV toolbox. I may come back and edit and link up the actuals I own and where I got them. But for now and for starters I'll start listing things out as I recently reorganized my tools so it's sort of fresh in my mind:
  • Screw drivers from compact versions to larger ones as sometimes you have to get into tight places inside the coach
  • Pliers, vice grips, channel locks (more for getting sewer covers off at the CG), a few clamps should I need to glue something back together
  • Dewalt powered screwdriver (I have the gyro one), Dewalt drill, Dewalt impact driver, all cordless
  • Caulk gun
  • Dicor, Silicone, Sikaflex 221, Sikaflex 252, Skylight sealant (from when I had to replace one from hail damage)
  • Crescent adjustable wrench(es)
  • Wire cutters
  • Larger cutters I later added to remove pex clamps
  • Needle nose
  • Long needle nose when I had to remove the cotter pin from the Kwikee steps
  • Voltmeter
  • Clampmeter
  • Voltage detection pen (hold near 120V or 12V to determine if there's power)
  • Wire tracing device
  • Hammer
  • Hatchet
  • Pole Saw
  • Stick Ladder (stored above chassis rail) (okay, it's not in the toolbox, but for some reason I wanted to list it)
  • Various screws, wire nuts, wire crimps, butt connectors, spade connectors
  • Wire stripper
  • Wire crimper
  • Pex crimp tool
  • Assorted hose clamps
  • Various glues (JB weld, epoxy, etc.)
  • Electrical tape
  • Rescue tape
  • Pipe sealant tape
  • Various lubes (silicone spray, wd-40)
  • Brake cleaner spray
  • T-9 lube
  • Hose pinch off pliers (2) in the event I have to replace an OASIS pump
  • Toolkit that has the assorted wrenches, knife, sockets, T bits
  • Assorted pieces box like a plano tackle box with various screws and things collected over time
  • Oil filter wrench for onan service
Some things are not "in" the toolbox but I'd say they are camping essentials for maintenance so feel free to open your lists up with that in mind.

Now you've done it! ?

I guess I need to go out and make a list of everything in my toolbox and peripheral containers. Probably should have it for insurance purposes anyway.

I'll need to crack mine open too and see how I did and what I missed :)

I’m depressed.
I’m not prepared.
I’m not worthy.
I’m scared.
I quit.

a torn corner of a napkin from Torchy's Tacos with the phone # to the road side service guy written with crayon. Oh, and a crayon. ?

Multiple head lamps, air compressor and multiple fittings, along with various air gauges, electric drill and of course gorilla tape.

Telescoping magnetic retriever thingy
Telescoping small mirror
WD 40 silicone - great for luring dump tank valves
Plumbers grease
Velcro
Multiple screw driver bits (set includes straight, philips, star, square, etc.)
Right angle drill extension
Several socket wrench sets
The list goes on.

Need to get prx stuff, but hope never to need it.

Over the years I have found that acquiring tools is a problem. Working on a third rolling tool box......o_O. However I have found something that is cheap, figuratively and literally, but is very handy for the basic repairs. It has become my "go to" box around the RV. It is easily portable, gets the tools to where you need them, is ORGANIZED and allows quick fixes. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0723914V1/?tag=rvf01-20

Doesn't anybody carry baling wire anymore? I've got mine.

Duct tape replaced baling wire?

Pretty cool there, Mr. Hogan.

...and zip ties...

I don’t have half of the things @Neal has and hope I never have to acquire them. The things I have found most useful in this first year are:
- Large rubber mallet for giving the tow bar pins a good whack if they’re stuck
- Power screwdriver
- Socket wrench set
- Razor knife
- VHB Tape
- Multimeter
- Wire cutters
- Non contact Voltage pen
- Two adjustable wrenches
- Dremel
- Jig Saw
- Headlamps

if all of that fails, I turn to my Visa.

Also, a good pair of extendable loppers. I’ve had to trim a tree or bush on more than one occasion to keep it from getting all touchy feely with my rig.

Hey now, I've slimmed down quite a bit. I'm down to two toolboxes on a shelf thanks to my Dometic cooler causing me to rethink storage. Okay, another shelf has a toolkit and the caulk bundle, and zip ties, and ratchet wrench set. But that's it. My poor house is jam packed with the excess and I'm doing all I can to stay off the Discovery channel "Hoarders" show.

No judgement here, my friend. Only point I was trying to make was to start of with the basics and then acquire what you need, as you need it. You’ve been at it a good bit longer than I so it makes sense that you would have a larger spread than me.

I'm thenthitive on this subject ya know! I haven't had an amazon delivery in 48 hours, well, that's because the one that "came yesterday" didn't come. So I get to say 48 hours now!

What stage of withdrawal are you in? Have you gotten past the cold sweats yet?
