I like the idea of the silicone pad. Wonder if a single ply conveyer belt would work?

Neal, could be more than just birds. Need to experience camping in the spring in an area when Miller Moth/Armyworm Moth populations explode. We did in Pueblo West CO in May a couple of years ago and it wasn't pleasant how many got in the rig. It's amazing where they get into. DW still has bad dreams about it LOL!

Well, based on what Rich is saying, just about anything would be better. My coach is in the shop so I can't look at mine for comparison. He replaced them a little over three years ago and they are beat up again. It must be really poor material that they are made out of. The conveyor belt might work just fine. Roadglide said he used a piece of inner tube

I ordered the 1/8 silicon rubber from Amazon, so we will see how that goes.

Thanks
Rich

I wonder if you could wrap the components going through the hole with wax paper and then use spray foam or something that cures soft if that would work better? And easier?

Yea…I guess that would make it glide through better?

Correction…I ordered 1/16 thick as I hoped it would bend easier and not crack… we’ll see.
