My husband and I are going to purchase an RV. Our choices, based on what we want are either class A diesel pusher or class c super, freightliner.

My concern, fro previous experience, the class A can be a rattle bucket on the road.

Is the class c super same?

Hello @DeltaLima and welcome to RVForums.com. A rattle bucket...that really depends on what you choose and how well it's built. My Newmar Ventana drives like a dream, it also has a tag axle which improves the ride. I don't know anything about Super C's but I imagine the theory is the same for all, if well built and on a good platform with good tires you'll have a great ride. Test drive is key, go to a local dealer and see what they have and never hesitate to ask for a test drive.

Another factor in a "rattle bucket" is how you pack things. Care taken in storing stuff goes a long way toward preventing rattles.

@Neal raises a valid point regarding the quality of the coach you purchase. Lower-end Class A coaches AND Super Cs are both subject to similar problems. And, from what I've seen, with comparable quality and similarly equipped coaches, the Super C will will be MORE expensive. A pro for the Super C is that they usually have a higher towing capacity.

Personally, I can't get by the truck-like appearance, but that's just an individual thing.

We bought our Class A used, and it was really a 'rattle bucket' on the trip home from Florida. New tires, shocks and Centramatic wheel balancers, and it drives like a dream.

Hi Buddy and Jeanette, We are curious, was that your first rv purchase? What was the main reason you choose the one you bought?
Regards

We had a travel trailer for three years prior to buying the class A. We decided to buy one of small diesel class C units and had our first really good look at a class A while we were shopping. Six months of research led us Newmar, and our budget and travel preferences (and available inventory) led us to the one we purchased. The main decision-maker was Newmar reputation and an abundance of favorable comments on RV forums.

If you have a lot of spare change, check out this Super C. Enjoy
