Curious which plan to go with, personal vs. business. What's your experience? For example, my mini I could go with Local priority over the consumer plan, $15/mo more but better connectivity? For my business, etc. it's worth having, just want opinions before I make any changes. My Gen3 will be my primary, but for now I was just looking at the mini as I'm going to be putting that to use to test it out soon.

Roam vs. Local Priority?

I have both plans. You don't want commericial / business unelss you need a static IP and cannot use a vpn to meet that requirement.

The Business is not UNLIMITED, but rather charges for usage.

One of my locations in Costa Rica uses approx 17Tb-27Tb of data monthly, and our bills are in excess of $5k monthly for starlink. A year ago the same plan was $145 monthly. Big difference.

I am on the standard personal roam plan, and have seen speeds as low as 45Mb/s and fast as 380Mb/s. Some times TMobile is faster, clocking in over 500Mb/s, but for latency, reliability, and hassle free communication, Starlink wins every time.

I won't start a zoom or teams call on Tmobile ever. Mid call is guaranteed to get the "glitch".

For streaming or casusal use, nothing beats the tmobile $10/month plan unlimited. But for 100% up time (except for that one outage we won't discuss), starlink is the way to go on personal roam plan.

I just wish I could swap between my large perm installed roof mount and the small mini on the same plan. I would probably use it more.

In my experience, the Starlink business plan didn’t live up to the hype for me, and I’d argue it’s not worth it for most cases. I used it for two years and found it valuable at first, especially with the original unlimited data option. However, when that shifted to a 2 terabyte-per-month limit, the plan’s appeal faded quickly.

Support was another letdown. I expected top-tier assistance given the plan’s higher cost, but that wasn’t my reality. When my business dish failed, it took Starlink a month to send a replacement, a frustrating delay. I ended up buying two residential dishes as a workaround. By the time the new business dish arrived, I had no incentive to switch back.

Take from this what you will, but I still have a brand-new, in-the-box Starlink business dish. I only opened it to confirm its contents, and it’s been unused since its arrival. If you’re interested, it’s yours, just cover the shipping and handling costs. It's doing nothing for me and I hate to see it just sitting there unused.

Thanks - that was easy, staying with the personal plans. No desire to change equipment, I have a Gen3 and mini (and Gen2 in storage if needed).

Why can't you? I thought of putting both dishes up at the same time if plans are active and bonding them via Peplink Fusion.
